A word about football…

That was the worst week ever for football picks. I picked the favorite of every game, (not purposely) and look how that turned out! 6/15! Poor Browns… I don't think Dorsey will ever get his first NFL victory as quarterback…

Rob Parker of Detroit News and local sports station 97.1 was lambasted by the FOX sports guys for a comment made to Marinelli after the Lions' loss… It was weird to hear Rob talked about by those guys, as I listen to him every day on the sports station. Basically Rob asked if Marinelli wished that his daughter married a better defensive coordinator – Okay that was a little out of line, but I think that Rob gets pissed that Marinelli avoids answering… but to me, the strangest thing is that Marinelli answered, 'Yes'. Wha? Huh? He does wish that his daughter married a better coordinator? Yikes! That will make for an awkward Christmas dinner…

A word about the week-end…

I was really looking forward to the 2 Christmas parties we had to attend on Saturday night. The first one was great. The hosts really go all out in way of apps, and had a nice full bar set up to self serve. We spent time with Billy's boss and watched a little of the game. It was most fun.

When we arrived at Kiks, I had a nice little buzz going on, Kiks goes all out with decorating, and there was so much food! My eyes were burning so much – I wasn't really tired, I just couldn't keep my eyes open, so I lounged on the couch in the basement away from the party for a couple of hours.

People I wasn't particularly keen on seeing were especially nice to me which was unexpected and odd, but 'tis the season I suppose. There was an incident which really, really hurt my feelings and even 2 days later it is still bothering me.

I try to avoid blogging about the negatives – there certainly aren't many in my life – but I'm not one of those people that can turn off feelings. I can't make myself feel a certain way. As I sit here, I still feel hurt, embarrassed, disrespected, and a bit angry and sad. I hope these feelings run their course soon, as it won't be a very Merry Christmas if I don't get over it, and I know it's not fair to those around me to suffer for my emotions when there is nothing they can do or say beyond what has been said or done to rectify my mood.

Ah well.

I did most successfully nearly start and complete my Christmas shopping yesterday. I was at the mall minutes after it opened (an hour earlier than normal) and it was dead! Wide open shopping for me. The service was unbelievably attentive, and I'm happy to have that (nearly) done. I went to Colasanti's to check out a little store they have among the thousands of plants, and the best part of my week-end was seeing and interacting with a baby Lemur that was playing outside the zoo area. That girl was cute! For a few minutes I was lost in watching this Lemur jumping, running and misbehaving. I had my camera with me, but she was too fast for a better picture… Rats! Vox won't allow it… maybe some other time.

A word about the house in Windsor…

It's coming right along, though much slower than I would like. In the interest of thriftiness, I'm trying to multi-use rollers, so that means not painting the 'accent' wall in the back bedroom until I'm painting with the same colour in the front bedroom. Ah well, Rome wasn't built in a day. Hopefully tomorrow I can paint the trim in the back bedroom as well as the ceiling and the ceiling in the bathroom – see? Again, multi-use.

And now…

I'm going to wrap Christmas presents. I usually enjoy this, and I think I'll put on the DVR'd 'Charlie Brown Christmas' and hopefully force this funk away…

From last night…

KT, SuprT and TOL for KT's and sister Princess Cass' birthday at Mezzo on Erie… after some wine-age…

Okay, me and Nic apparently need an operation to separate our heads… yes, I have to open my eyes more and I'm pretty sure there is something stuck in my teeth… remnants of gnocchi…

Rach, (normally gorgeously photogenic was not expecting this pic, but it's the only one I have of her… I'll post duper hot ones of her some other time….) and Michelle, and many, many empty glasses of wine…

Here's Baby Coug (aka: Katherine Couger in Trainer) and Princess Cass, showing off the whites, (brace free I might add…)

TOL is occasionally the friend that after 2 drinks is good to go on any silly behavior recommendation, hence the following pic, she's always fun…

Obviously a great time. Seriously awesome friends…

The What

Last night was a great girls' night out for KT's birthday. We went to Mezzo's on Erie Street and just had a great time. TOL's new man stole the show!

I golfed this morning bright and early and blew the first nine holes (the back) and recovered well on the front. It was one of my best rounds this year, which doesn't say much.

I found out that the tourney tomorrow is 3/3/3, (but I think it's 18 holes, whatever…) basically the round is divided into scramble holes, alternate shot holes and some other format that I can't remember. Arg! That's much harder than the low net I thought we were playing! The girl I'm playing with, it's her birthday tomorrow, so I'm sure we'll have fun.

Tonight? Me, William, HUGE steaks, some 'bobs, stuffed mushrooms, cocktails, Big Brother, and in general a great evening.

Yes!
