The Frankenfinger

Posted on

Since it’s been just over a year since William nearly severed the end of his right hand middle finger, I thought I would share a happy, healed picture with you all…

The scar on his ring finger is fairly visible. Obviously the nail on the middle finger has some issues, it chooses not to grow in a uniform way… It’s hard to tell in this picture, but the middle finger, ‘goes to the right’, and is not nearly straight at the end. There is not a lot of scarring, probably because the entire end was a hot mess of stitches. Ew. It’s funny to know also, that his frankenfinger is always cold. Occasionally William will put a finger on my back and say, ‘tell me which one is my Frankenfinger’ and it’s aways the coldest. Easy. Creepy.

This is his newest injury.

The stitches are huge – because they weren’t put in by a plastic surgeon, William informed me… he would know!

Aside from this, which at least for me is more entertaining and funny than worrisome, life is good!

As one who worked in the sheet metal industry in my early years, seeing these brings floods of horrid images back to my mind. Safety first…
